Meiyume showcased new sustainable packaging solutions at Creative Days, its showroom event for clients held late March in Paris. Bottle jackets, aluminum lipsticks and ocean-bound PCR were among the innovations on display.
Beauty solutions provider Meiyume held its Creative Days in Paris late last month, an event designed to enable the supplier’s customers to see all its solutions across formula, full service, primary packaging and promotional items. “This is our way of ensuring we have a captive audience so we can offer our clients a different format than the traditional trade show,” Meiyume Senior Vice President François Camilli said of Creative Days, which is held every two years.
The 2022 edition of Creative Days took the form of a “concept store” built around three areas; Purpose – Natural Beauty; Elegance – New Luxe, and Enjoyment and Interactive Experiences.
A partnership with Bulgarian company MP Studio, Meiyume’s Champagne Projection Mapping enables precise projection of content onto a factice. The digital technology is particularly suited for new product launches, the supplier notes, and can be used in shop-in-shop or pop-up environments among others.
Also in the retail experience realm, Shelf and Product Animation is designed to capture consumer attention through augmented reality installations projected onto a background.
3D Knitting Jacket is an elastic sheath that both protect and decorates bottles across both fragrance and cosmetics and wines and spirits segments. Made of 96% RPET and 4% elastane, the "jacket" can be produced in up to six different colors, with a patterned design also possible.
The Jute Ice Jacket, meanwhile, designed to keep wine cool, features a jute bow and outer shell and a cotton inner. The closure system is in recycled polyester. Screenprinting can be used to decorate the outer shell.
And the Reflective Ice Jacket – conceived for nightlife spaces - has a reflective decoration that appears when a photo is taken with a flash.
The Ocean Bound Plastic packaging range is sourced from plastic litter collected within a 50km perimeter of coastlines, which is then transformed into resin pellets.
Photoluminescent Label is a luminous label made of ABS loaded with 40% photoluminescent pigments. It captures UV light, releasing it in dark environments. The label can be screenprinted, hot stamped or decorated using water transfer.
Also on show was Meiyume’s Recyclable Full Aluminum Lipstick. The 100% aluminum pack has a patent-pending “smart click system” and can be anodized, sprayed, silkscreened, laser engraved or roller stamped.
