For this year’s edition of Paris Packaging Week, Portuguese closures specialist Amorim Top Series worked with labels expert Avery Dennison on a packaging design project called Once Upon a Time.
Specialized in the production of capsulated cork closures predominantly for the global premium spirits markets, Portugal-based Amorim Top Series is looking to enter new segments, notably the fragrance and cosmetics market. To showcase its beauty expertise, the supplier partnered with Avery Dennison on the Once Upon a Time design project, conceived to encourage brands to rethink their communication with the end consumer. The project showcases seven packaging prototypes inspired by fairy tales.
To develop closures for the Once Upon a Time collection, Amorim Top Series’ New Product Development team chose concepts that were challenging in terms of development time and customization. Designed by creative agency Supperstudio, the supplier manufactured closures for six out of seven prototypes. Featured below are four of the concepts.
Love Always Wins – A wooden capsule decorated with laser engraving combined with a natural cork.
Honeysty – An agglomerated cork closure.
Mirror Mirror – Polyester resin with transparent polished finishing.
Antiageism –Laser engraved wooden overcap finished with dark brown varnish.
