Anomalia Paris blends vintage and modern for first fragrance range

New genderless French perfume brand Anomalia Paris has debuted with a seven-strong fragrance collection. The refillable geometric flacons are topped with an asymmetrical black zamak stopper.

For its debut fragrance collection, Anomalia Paris sought to move away from perfumery’s traditional codes. Essence(s) Versatile(s) is a genderless fragrance range comprising seven scents that can either be worn separately, or layered.

The packaging design was the brainchild of the brand’s founder Elena Spirina and French design agency Carré Basset. Influenced by vintage perfume bottles, the ribbed flacons (Pochet du Courval) feature a heavy asymmetrical base with the brand's monogram in relief. Designed to be refillable, the bottles are fitted with a XD11 Pirouette screw pump (Silgan Dispensing). The refill formats are currently in development and are set to hit the market in 2023.

The nickel galvanized zamak stopper (TNT Global Manufacturing) is lacquered black with a tone-on-tone engraved logo on the top. The PP lined cap sits on an e-coated golden band.

Screenprinted on uncoated, felt-marked paper - which offers with a slightly coarse texture - from Fedrigoni, the minimalist labels (Haas étiquettes) are applied to an indented square on the flacon’s facing.

In terms of secondary packaging, the collection is housed in lightweight boxes (Inessens) made of Fedrigoni’s Tintoretto Gesso uncoated creative FSC, felt-marked paper stock. As for the labels, the paper is printed with vegetable oil based inks. The brand opted to wrap its boxes with Innovia’s Propafilm OFR cellophane – a BOPP film designed for recycling in existing PP recycling streams.

Composed at Accords & Parfums and Firmenich, The Essence(s) Versatile(s) fragrance collection launched in September and retails at €185 for 70ml eau de parfum. Alongside its fragrance range, Anomalia Paris launched a collection of home scent diffusers, retailing at €140 for 200ml, and candles priced at €145.
