Axilone to double aluminum production capacity with new site

French beauty packaging group Axilone is breaking ground on a second site in Spain for its aluminum business. Production is slated to debut early 2025.

Faced with continued strong demand from the beauty market, Axilone has announced it is building a second production plant alongside the metal division’s existing site in Spain, near Barcelona. Covering 12,000m2, the new facility will produce 100% aluminum components for primary beauty packs, and more specifically complex, multi-component fragrance caps and skincare components for premium brands.

“While Axilone Metal’s core activity remains in the fragrance segment, we continue to gain share in the premium skincare space. The current market for these two segments is incredibly strong so we are increasing our production capacity accordingly,” Martin Haye, Strategy and Development Director Axilone Group, tells Luxe Packaging Insight. “It’s a race against the clock, but we are fully confident to be able to meet the market’s growing demand,” he adds.

The existing production facility, covering 15,000m2 and first expanded in 2018, is heading towards full capacity today, according to Haye. The new site will be up and running early 2025 and will allow Axilone to double its current production capacity in the medium term.

The future site will be powered on 100% certified green energy, with a mix of gas and electric.
