With a new generation at its helm, French family-owned winery Les Vignobles d’Exéa has unveiled new products and packaging. Its Château de Sérame wine is the star of the range.
Les Vignobles d’Exéa in France’s Languedoc-Roussillon region has undergone something of a metamorphosis in the past couple of years, with a new team – the winery is family-owned – and business model; previously its wines were sold only in bulk. In addition to the implementation of sustainable viticulture practices – biodynamics is at the heart of its strategy – the French winery has unveiled a range of organic wines in brand-new packaging.
Les Vignobles d’Exéa worked with Barcelona-based Dito Design on its wine packaging. The star of the range is Château de Sérame, a 2020 vintage launched this January. With its delicate, feminine packaging that highlights the color of the AOP Corbières rosé wine, “it almost looks like a perfume,” remarks Les Vignobles d’Exéa President Anne Besse.
The bottle - OI’s Garance model – is topped with a glass stopper (Vinolok). Supplier Inessens printed the facing label on Tintoretto (Fedrigoni Paper), using four-color offset printing and a metallic pantone. Transparent embossed hot stamping features on the curved text at the top of the label, while a tactile varnish was used to define the bird illustration.
The secondary packaging was printed at Inessens’ Art & Sens site in Grasse dedicated to folding boxes and specialized in the cosmetics and fragrance markets. Four-color printing combines with touches of metallic pantone (offset), while soft-touch lamination is used on the front of the box.
White and red variants of Château de Sérame are currently under study, says the winemaker.
