In line with its goals to reduce its reliance on virgin plastic, Parfums Christian Dior (LVMH) this summer is launching new packaging for its Dior Addict Lip Maximizer featuring recycled material. The lip gloss packs will be made with Eastman’s Cristal Renew co-polyester featuring 30% recycled content.
As it works towards phasing out virgin plastic by 2026, Parfums Christian Dior has inked an agreement with chemicals company Eastman to use its Cristal Renew in the brand’s packaging. Produced using molecular recycling, the material is made of co-polyesters that are said to be chemically identical to virgin plastic. Dior’s Addict Lip Maximizer, a plumping lip gloss, is the first product to come in Cristal Renew packaging. The shades created by Christian Dior Makeup creative and image director Peter Philips include glossy and “holographic” versions.
Eastman and LVMH will collaborate on packaging across the luxury group’s brand portfolio, Eastman said in a statement, with additional take-up expected in the coming months.
Eastman’s Cristal Renew is available with 50% or 30% recycled content.
