As part of its ‘paper over plastic’ strategy, the Italian paper and labels supplier has launched a range of papers with moisture barrier properties.
Materia Viva Metamorphosis is Italian group Fedrigoni’s latest paper solution to replace plastic packaging for products requiring barrier properties. The laminate-free range offers different grades that are grease-, water-, stain-, mold- and scratch-resistant. The recycled content ranges from 20 to 100%.
At Paris Packaging Week the group was highlighting Eclose, a brand offering thermoformed cellulose pulp packaging (both primary and secondary) produced by Italian startup Tecnoform, of which Fedrigoni owns a majority share.
Re-Play, Fedrigoni’s upcycled glassine-based range of self-adhesives was also on show. The collection is comprised of four variants, all of which are 100% recycled: Nature White, Martelé, Retro and Pearl.
Luxury packaging makes up some 40% of sales in Fedrigoni’s paper division, Chief Commercial Officer Ilan Schinazi told Luxe Packaging Insight, with the goal of reaching some 60% of the business within the next two years. Bespoke products account for 40% of the group’s activity to date.
