Traditional artisanal techniques meet 21st-century innovation for the packaging of Hennessy’s Dame Jeanne Editions Rares cognacs. 3D printing combines with leatherwork, basketry, and gilding to create the outer structure of the Dame Jeanne that is used to fill the Baccarat bottles.
Hennessy has unveiled a limited-edition cognac set, whose personalizable packaging takes its cues from Dame Jeannes - rounded, slender necked glass containers used to house eaux-de-vie. Servaire & Co is behind the design.
With Dame Jeanne Editions Rares, the Dame-Jeanne’s outer structure is 3D printed, then hand-finished with a combination of white wicker from the Loire Valley and leather. The leather is made from skins supplied by LVMH-owned Tanneries Roux in France, and is hand-braided, painted and stitched. Both the color of the leather and stitching can be personalized to the customer, and initials hot-stamped on the leather in 24-carat gold. The 10-liter Dame Jeanne is used to fill the one-liter, mouth-blown Baccarat crystal bottles enclosed in the set of 10 coffrets.
Said to be “the most exclusive cognacs” Hennessy has ever produced, just two Dame Jeannes of 10 liters each are available.
