Albania-based spirits producer ADOL looked to the past when revamping the packaging of its Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu brandy. The bespoke embossed bottle bears the name of Albania’s national hero Skanderbeg.
For its flagship Skënderbeu brandy, ADOL sought out packaging that would reflect the rich history behind the spirit. Slovenian glassmaker Hrastnik1860 drew inspiration from Albanian military hero Gjergj Kastrioti, more commonly known as Skanderbeg.
The brandy is housed in a bespoke, extra flint glass bottle, in the shape of Skanderbeg’s helmet, one of Albania's oldest symbols. The embossed bottle features decorative details including rosettes and monograms.
Skënderbeu’s black, facing label (Real-Stamp) was offset printed on 80g glossy paper with hotstamped gold foil accents and finished off with a gloss varnish. A second label, in a form of a leaflet fastened around the bottle’s neck, is printed on 300g velvet matte paper.
The bottle is topped with a plastic stopper (Pollas Glas) and comes in either a a cardboard gift box (Real-Stamp) or a wooden coffret. Made of either oak or fir, the coffrets (Kajs woodwork) are decorated using pyrogravure and feature a laser cut-out on all four sides.
