Luxury packaging industry trade show LUXE PACK Shanghai is returning to its April dates for the 2023 edition. The event will once again run concurrently with MakeUP in Shanghai.
After a cancelled event in 2022 due to the health pandemic, LUXE PACK Shanghai is returning to its traditional Spring dates and will take place on April 12th-13th, 2023 at Shanghai Exhibition Center. Some 160 exhibitors will be showing their wares on the show floor across industry sectors, including cosmetics and beauty, fragrance, haircare, wine and spirits, premium drinks, fine foods, jewelry & and watches, fashion and accessories, healthcare and tobacco.
In addition to the innovations from the show floor, the two-day event will offer a conference program addressing pertinent topics for luxury packaging players. Below are a few not to be missed:
· Packaging Design 360° Trends Review, with designer Deng Xiongbo from Lingyun Creative,
· Breaking Free of Historical Constraints to Create Timeless Beauty, featuring luxury spirits brand Camus’ President Cyril Camus.
· WGSN Beauty Trends, moderated by the trend forecasting agency WGSN Trend Director Maggie MEN, who will outline the innovations and lifestyle drivers set to shape consumer goods in S/S 24.
· The Power of Limited Editions: Creative Catalysts for Innovation & Growth is a roundtable session gathering industry experts to discuss the power of IP collaborations and artist editions to reach new consumers. Speakers include Tang Lu Ji, General Manager of Lesu 3D; Jeff Chong, Marketing Director at Carlsberg China Group and Simone Chen, Editor-in-Chief of Ideat.
Installation artist Juju Wang, guest of honor at this year's show, will share her creative concepts and latest techniques by exploring the common ground between art, nature, and culture. Her installation Snowflakes, in collaboration with Audemars Piguet, will be featured on the show floor.
The winners of LUXE PACK’s sustainable packaging competition LUXE PACK in Green will be unveiled during a ceremony on April 12th. A jury composed of industry experts from Camus Yuanliu, Chanel, Coty, Jahwa, Richemont and Terracycle will award the best sustainable packaging solutions and responsible initiatives.
As a part of the show’s Event Within the Event Initiative, the 2023 edition will highlight BETC DESIGN's sustainable packaging manifest, which highlights nine different practices to help brands in their sustainability journey. Visitors will be able to test their knowledge when it comes to eco-design and exhange with experts on their green packaging needs.
MakeUp in Shanghai revs up for 2023 show
Held concurrently with LUXE PACK, the B2B make-up and skincare show MakeUp in Shanghai is gearing up for its 6th edition, focusing on the latest trends and innovations in the beauty industry. Beauty suppliers and brands, experts, trend setters and designers are among the exhibitors, including Virospack, Anyenyway Group, Dingrong, Frime, Kinhwa Plastic and LB Nature.
The conference program will highlight the latest industry trends with a keynote by Chinese makeup artist Mao Geping, who will discuss his views on the balance between technology and crafts, innovation and heritage, and explore the ideal aesthetic concept. Geping is also showcasing his products in an exhibition entitled Graceful Style of the Song Dynasty.
A round table, moderated by Dora Jin (Somexing), Rachel Liu (Carslan) and Laurent Cibot (Laboratoire Dermatologique Inderma), Beauty Globalization: a 2 way Silk Road will address the global product life cycle from ingredient innovation and tech-enhanced beauty to packaging redesign.
A workshop with Natasha Chou, Strategic Account Director at Peclers Paris will spotlight SS24 beauty and packaging trends and how the themes of essentialism and surrealism can be purchase drivers. A Trends area created by consumer trend forecaster WGSN will also feature on the show floor, highlighting three themes: Protect & Connect, SenseScapes and Creative Confidence.
