Luxe Pack in Green announces 2019 finalists

The shortlist of nominees for the 2019 edition of the Luxe Pack in Green Awards is a window into the progress that the industry is making in the area of sustainability. We bring you a brief overview of the products in competition:
  • Dutch board manufacturer Eska will present Eska Jeans, its material made from recycled denim fibers combined with FSC-certified virgin cellulose fibers,
  • Pushing the aesthetic boundaries of second life glass, Spanish manufacturer Estal entered its bottles with innovative shapes made of 100% recycled glass,
  • Albertini Packaging Group designed a box made of 100% recycled paper, decorated with vegetable inks and using a minimum amount of glue,
  • Edelman Group is adopting a a minimalist approach with its Less is More box described as "packaging in its simplest form".
The second category of the competition concerns companies' CSR initiatives. Four projects will be examined by the jury*: at Eastman, a circular economy approach; for Heinz Glas, the glassmaker's global sustainable strategy; Altus Coating demonstrates its initiatives in flexography with organic varnishes (the Bioflex Project) and for Primal Manufacturing, an initiative aimed at using ocean-sourced plastics. The Luxe Pack in Green Awards will celebrate their ninth year at the ceremony on Tuesday 1 October at 5.30 pm in the Grimaldi Forum's conference room.
