The luxury packaging event of the year is in full preparation mode. Designer Ross Lovegrove will be the guest of honor at the 32nd
edition of Luxe Pack Monaco
and will share his vision of packaging design based on his projects in the field, including the red ribbon slashed across the bottle of Cordon Rouge Mumm champagne and his collection for beauty brand Kiko Milano. Lovegrove will share his expertise during a one-on-one session with Juan Mantilla, design director at the Italian cosmetics brand.
The Middle Eastern market will be another focus via a dedicated program dubbed Ambition Middle East
. Lebanese-born influencer Joelle Mardinian, the event’s guest of honor, will give two conferences: one on the issue of brand activation on social networks in the Middle East and a second dedicated to the creation of her own beauty brand, Joelle Paris. A roundtable session, moderated by Cent Degrés Dubai, will address the challenges and opportunities of the Middle Eastern fragrance market with a panel of key players from the region: Ajmal Parfums, Chalhoub, Firmenich and Boutiquaat.
The Trends Observer session will be renewed this year in a novel format. A single expert, Emma Chiu, director of innovation and creativity at The Innovation Group JWT, think tank of the firm J. Walter Thompson, will take the place of the panel featured in previous editions. Chiu will unveil a report on trends covering different areas of the luxury market including packaging, design, color, societal behavior habits and consumer expectations. A copy of the report will be sent to all visitors following the exhibition.
When it comes to materials, an exhibition entitled The Most... Materials
will be presented by Parisian agency MatériO. It will be a format dedicated to materials "pushed to their very extremes, from the purest to the most incredible".
The Luxe Pack in Green awards will be a highlight again this year with a trophy designed and manufactured by glassmaker O-I Europe. Conferences dedicated to innovation in eco-design will shed light on two issues: the expectations of brands and their suppliers and the opportunities of reusable packaging in the luxury sphere.
Among the 470 exhibitors present at this year’s show, some thirty newcomers will make their début, including glassmakers Hrastnik 1860 and Edwanex Glassworks; specialist in brand protection technology The Hologram Company; and two experts in promotional packaging solutions, Superga Beauty and My Prod.
In a bid to help visitors better navigate the show, organizer Idice is launching a dedicated tool on its website early September so that visitors can create a personalized itinerary depending on their needs. Luxe Pack Monaco will be held from September 30 to October 2.
