Luxe Pack Shanghai: a platform for the industry to “bounce back”

Luxe Pack Shanghai and sister show MakeUp in Shanghai are gearing up for their second annual joint event on July 7-8 at the Shanghai Exhibition Center. In the current context of the Covid-19 crisis, the shows are an opportunity for brands and suppliers to position themselves for recovery.

Some 30% of exhibitors at the 2020 edition of Luxe Pack Shanghai and MakeUp in Shanghai (originally slated for April) are exhibiting for the first time, bringing the total number of companies to 210 as of today, according to show organizer Idice. While the joint conference program with MakeUp In, which will run for two days, was established before the Covid-19 crisis hit, it will inevitably focus on its aftermath in China and beyond. The opening session, The Future of Luxury - Market & Consumer Trends to Shape the Luxury Industry in China will feature keynote addresses by May Yee Chen, APAC Director at JWT Intelligence and Jonathan Siboni, CEO of Luxurynsight. 

Other conferences will address innovation in the area of materials (with neuni matériO), the latest developments in smart packaging solutions and the world of packaging design, with Cent Degrès China and designers Chafik Gasmi and Geping Mao.

On the MakeUp In side, one session will unveil the latest novelties in formulation, packaging, full service and accessories gleaned from the show floor.

In addition to conference program, Luxe Pack will feature its Innovation Wall, highlighting the latest product developments at the show, the Luxe Pack in Green awards competition and Luxe Pack Innovative Materials, an area showcasing novel solutions in the area of packaging materials.
