Marc Newson calls on Baccarat for Louis Vuitton’s Ultimate Bottle

The Ultimate Bottle from Louis Vuitton (LVMH) is a one-liter incarnation of the brand’s iconic perfume flacon. Inspired by vintage fragrance displays, the bottle made by Baccarat is enclosed in a glass dome and rests on a leather base.

Designer Marc Newson has designed Ultimate Bottle, a limited-edition, oversized version of the flacon he created for Les Parfums Louis Vuitton.

“I wanted to create something whimsical and fun that’s also very functional. Ultimate Bottle is scaled up to a sculptural dimension and takes inspiration from vintage fragrance displays,” Newson said in a statement.

 

 

The one-liter crystal flacon (Baccarat) – produced using traditional glass-blowing techniques – is engraved and numbered by hand. On the black crystal cap, the LV logo is hand-painted in gold enamel. The bottle is encased in a glass dome and sits on a leather base. Made in Louis Vuitton’s workshops in France, the base has an amber-colored patina and features the brand’s logo.

The Ultimate Bottle is available with three of Louis Vuitton’s fragrances: Rose des Vents, Matière Noire and L’Immensité, applied using the accompanying stem applicator. Just 200 of the flacons were made. Launched in November, the flacon retails at €15,000.
