Merkury Ateliers develops its wood range

A paper gift box with wooden surface was on show at Poland-based Merkury Ateliers’ stand at Paris Packaging Week.

Aiming to expand its gift box range, Polish secondary packaging specialist Merkury Ateliers showcased a new range of decorative gift coffrets targeting the jewelry or fragrance markets. Similar to the Champagne packaging project developed especially for Les Places d’Or this year, the supplier’s new square-shaped cardboard coffret is adorned in wood.

Made of kraft paper, the boxes are decorated with a thin sheet of wood veneer attached with bio-based adhesives. This allows for a significant reduction of the pack’s weight when compared to a wooden coffret, while preserving the visual appeal of wood. The packaging contains neither plastic nor metal and its surface can be varnished, painted or embossed.
