Packaging Première & PCD Milan rev up for 2022 events

Italian luxury packaging trade shows Packaging Première and PCD Milan are opening their doors on May 24-26, 2022 in Fieramilanocity. After a two-year hiatus, the joint events will host 260 exhibitors with more than 6,700 visitors expected.

Dedicated to designers, brands and manufacturers of luxury packaging, Milan-based trade show Packaging Première, acquired by global trade show organizer Easyfairs in 2019, is featuring several new initiatives. First off, the debut edition of Packaging Première's Avant-Garde, a project where a curated selection of exhibitors will present their latest luxury packaging innovations to the community. Selected by a 10-strong jury, the innovations will be on display in a dedicated area.

Devoted to the artistic aspect of packaging design, Packaging Première will host a space called Art Gallery, where the works of artists that specialize in repurposing materials in new and creative ways will be on show.

 

This year is also hosting the premier edition of PCD Milan, the Italian version of fragrance and cosmetics trade show PCD, which will be held alongside Packaging Premiere in Fieramilanocity. Focused principally on primary packaging solutions, the conference roster will cover a range of issues around sustainability and innovative materials. The Pentawards competition winners will also be on displayed during the three-day show (Easyfairs is also the owner of the Pentawards).

"We are very excited about the path we are taking to establish Packaging Première as the reference event for deluxe packaging at an international level. Our aim is to create unique experiences for our community, […] through social media, but also in the events and digital initiatives throughout the year. The strong and unique identity of Packaging Première will be the driving force behind the first edition of PCD Milan," says Packaging Première Founder and Director Pier Paolo Ponchia.

Easyfairs called on UK-based design agency Butterfly Cannon to renew the graphic identity of three of its trade shows: London Packaging Week, Paris Packaging Week and Packaging Premiere & PCD Milan.
