Rémy Cointreau’s ultra-premium fragrance brand Maison Psyché bridges perfume and spirits

Maison Psyché from Rémy Cointreau brings the spirits group’s expertise to the world of fragrance. The flacons in Baccarat crystal are adorned with gold and diamonds by high-jewelry house Coringer. The scents retail from upwards of €5,500.

French family-owned spirits group Rémy Cointreau is venturing into the world of fragrance by creating its own perfume house. Dubbed Maison Psyché, the brand is inspired by the myth of Cupid and Psyché, and has adopted the butterfly as its logo. The 100ml fragrance flacon in Baccarat crystal is mouth blown, hand cut and gilded by hand. It is then adorned with gold and diamonds by the Coringer high-jewelry workshop.

Launching with a collection of five scents, Maison Psyché blends the savoir-faire of Rémy Martin Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau and Firmenich Principal Perfumer Sophie Labbé.

“Maison Psyché is a natural extension of our activities. It is based on the special blending and ageing expertise specific to the world of spirits to elevate the finest raw materials from perfumery and create innovative fragrances. Maison Psyché is a bridge between two worlds, that of luxury fragrance and that of spirits,” Eric Vallat, CEO of Rémy Cointreau Group, said in a statement.

The fragrances are aged in small oak casks designed by coopers Seguin Moreau in the cellars of Maison Rémy Martin in Cognac. Using the assembly and aging savoir-faire specific to spirits is said to create “a unique aromatic richness, exceptional longevity on the skin and a distinctive olfactory signature”.

Prices for Maison Psyché scents will start from €5,500.
