Portuguese house Taylor’s has launched the 1896 Single Harvest Tawny Port, a rare 19th century release. Aged in oak casks in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, the port comes in a hand-cut crystal decanter nestled in a cherrywood case.
After the Scion Port from 1855, released in 2010, and 2014’s 1863 Single Harvest Port, family-owned Port-wine producer Taylor’s once again called on Glencairn Crystal Studio to craft the decanter for its latest rare 19th century release.
The hand-cut crystal decanters (Glencairn Crystal Studio), engraved and infilled in gold, are topped with a seven-sided stopper that is engraved on all facets and infilled in gold on four sides.
The decanter is housed in a cherrywood case (Camarc). Just 1,700 coffrets have been produced.
